Noble Pots

I got some surplus Noble Pots.  I have seen similar pots going for $20 on E-Bay (ridiculous).  I'm selling these for $6.  When I get low on stock, I might raise to $8 till I run out.  Here is the photo, with parts from a disassembled unit:

They have 2 knobs: inner and outer.  The inner (longer) knob controls 1 mono pot towards the back of the unit.  The outer knob controls the 2 mono pots toward the front of the unit (stereo).  All sections are linear, but can be made log by the addition of a parallel resistor (about 3 - 4k ohms).

You can disassemble them for cleaning, etc.  For use as a simple stereo volume control, you can take it apart and remove the inner post if you want.  Note there are about 16 individually-sprung contacts that wipe across the carbon on the PCB.  These are nice pots.

The pinouts are labled 0-3 for the mono section (inner post) as an example.  These pinouts are the same for the stereo section.  For use as a regular pot, use pins 1-3.  Pin 2 is the wiper.  If the pot is dialed all the way to the right (max volume), there is about 1 ohm between pins 1 and 2.  Therefore, pin 1 connects to the previous stage, pin 2 is the output (to buffer op amp), and pin 3 goes to GND.  You may add a 3k or 4k R between pins 2 and 3 to make the pot have a log-like function (when followed by an op amp buffer).  Just for clarity, let me emphasize that for a stereo volume control, you will be soldering onto the UNLABELED pins in the photo.
