The Outpost Post
21 Jan 2012
Welcome to the 20th year of the Last Outpost! To celebrate (and by virtue
of having run out of fractional 1.00 release numbers) we are now running LO
code version 2.00!
Connor's Calligraphy Shop and Post Office is selling a powerful new scroll
that will make it easier to document your travels. Why let your memories
of a trip fade away? Visit Connor today!
We've made a significant change to the input code used by the game. It has
been switched from the ancient telnet 'line mode' to the somewhat less
ancient telnet 'character mode'. This lets the game provide a much nicer
command line editor. Type 'HELP editor' for more information on what you
can do with it. If you are seeing double characters or not seeing your
keystrokes echoed at all, try using the PREFERENCE command to toggle the
echo setting. The CLI now offers tab completion as well.
Let us know if you run into any problems with the new command line.
Have fun!
