   Welcome to the seventeenth year of The Last Outpost and a fresh player
   database!

   We recently had an issue with some accounts being compromised by malicious
   players.  In order to fix the problem, we needed to change some of character
   name requirements and update the format of the player database.  After long
   deliberation over how to update the existing seven year old database, we
   decided that the best thing to do was to simply start fresh with a new one.

   You will find a few changes to the game in this new era.  The most notable
   are that clan enrollment is no longer mandatory at level 8, and dying won't
   leave you completely without equipment.

   Here's to another seventeen years of The Last Outpost, and as always,
